SEA Electric was founded in 2012. After five years of product development and testing, SEA Electric launched its commercial operations in early 2017, triggered by the reduction in battery kWh pricing that would allow commercial feasibility in offering electric drivetrains to the global market.

  • August 2019 – Countdown NZ (Woolworths) deploys first of five SEA refrigerated EV delivery truck
  • September 2019 – SUEZ in Western Australia launch SEA fully electric garbage/recycling truck

  • September 2019 – WEL Networks in New Zealand deploy SEA Electric’s first EV Cherry Picker Truck

  • May 2020 – New Zealand owned waste management and streetscape maintenance company Civic Contractors deploys SEA EV truck to carry out sanitation and street cleaning (EV truck picks up wheelie bins and washes bin with hot water & steam)

  • October 2021 - Largest truck order in SEA Electric history from GATR EV (a division of GATR Trucks) of more than 1,000 SEA Hino M5 EVs
  • November 2021 - SEA Electric's Australian factory has turned to rooftop solar power with the installation of a 100kW solar power system
