SEA Electric set for Groundbreaking Work Truck Week
Global e-Mobility leader SEA Electric is fueling the drive to a zero-emissions future, with the company’s showcase at Work Truck Week 2023 set to feature major OEM partnership agreement announcements along with exciting development milestones in the creation of the company’s SEA SV6 EV step van solution.
Originally announced at Work Truck Week 2022, the prototype SEA SV6 EV chassis will be displayed at the 2023 event, which is scheduled for March 7-10 in Indianapolis, IN, with the platform having undergone successful power unit testing in February this year.
The next steps for the vehicle will be to have its body installed immediately after the show, and undertake further durability testing, which is scheduled for completion by July this year.
The extensive testing program will pit the vehicle against a wide range of scenarios, ensuring that the product is cycle tested to excel in any circumstances.
Production of the platform is set to commence in Q4 2023, with an initial run of 100 units.

With improved and lower center of gravity, the SEA SV6 EV offers enhanced chassis strength, and the latest suite of Bosch safety features.
Inside the cabin, drivers will enjoy the new digital instrument cluster, plus enhanced ergonomics from a next generation steering wheel.
Work Truck Week 2023, comes after numerous other recent wins for the brand globally.
Central to the brand’s success is SEA Electric’s proprietary SEA-Drive® power-system, which provides leading all-electric range, driving performance, and environmental credentials, with zero local emissions of carbon dioxide, methane or nitrous oxide.
Thanks to its medium‐voltage architecture and electronic thermal management, SEA Electric’s solution is light, cost‐effective and efficient, with the system tested in the field across seven countries with over 2.5 million miles of real-world use registered to date.

Marketplace growth in North America is mirrored by expansion worldwide.
In Australia, where the company was founded, SEA Electric has been producing the world’s first true range of all electric trucks since 2021, with the offering available through a nationwide network of dealers.
In January this year, the business signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MEVCO, a leading systems integrator focused exclusively on electric light commercial vehicles within the mining industry, for the supply of 8,500 SEA Drive® powered HiLux and LandCruiser models over the next five years.
The deal has a total value of over US700 million dollars.
Amongst a raft of important deliveries in that country, in 2022, SEA Electric produced a first-in-market all-electric aviation refueller, which now services the busy Brisbane International Airport, uplifting Jet-A1.
The refueller can carry over 4,000 gallons of aviation fuel, with all onboard pumps and functions fully electrified, with the management of the systems provided by the integrated SEA-Drive® power-system.
This system has also been adapted to electrify a wide range of additional vehicle ancillary functions, such as the hydraulic systems found on refuse vehicles, elevated work platforms, tippers and tilt trays, as well as the cooling units found in refrigerated delivery trucks.
In addition to SEA Electric’s booth at Work Truck Week, and participation in the Ride and Drive activity with a SEA M5 EV, the company will also be represented at the Green Truck Summit.

Leading Executive Joins SEA Electric as President – North America
Global e-Mobility technology company SEA Electric is proud to announce the appointment of Justin Gil Palmer to the position of President – North America, as of the 30th of January, 2023.
Mr Palmer comes to the role with extensive electric truck industry experience, focusing on the delivery and final mile segments.
Since 2017, Mr Palmer has been the President and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks America (MFTA-Daimler Trucks), which included oversight of the global launch, sales and support for the brand’s industry-disrupting alternate powertrains, including the e-Canter line.
The role encompassed the brand’s distribution network and market strategy in the USA and Canada, extending to sales, communications and marketing, CS operations and logistics, retail network development and product management.
Previous to the role, Mr Palmer was Director of Business Operations at MFTA-Daimler Trucks and has held various other executive-level positions.

Ampol Partners with SEA Electric to Charge Australia’s Future Commercial Fleets
In an industry first, Ampol has partnered with Australian commercial electric vehicle manufacturer SEA Electric to support the transition of companies to zero-emissions commercial electric vehicle technology.
Through the partnership, SEA Electric and Ampol will be working together to develop flexible, sustainable and seamless charging options to support the uptake of lower emissions commercial vehicles in key parts of the transport sector.
The partnership will also focus on building an integrated charging solution for SEA Electric customers on the road at Ampol forecourts, at destinations and solutions at the workplace.
James Myatt, Ampol’s General Manager, Energy, said Ampol will work with SEA Electric and leverage its knowledge and strong relationships across industries to help support commercial vehicle owners’ decarbonisation goals.
